Salisbury NHSFT’s national support service for apprentice employers, through our Managed Procurement Service (SMPS) brand, supports public sector organisations of all types to help them increase their uptake of apprenticeships.
We produce the national Apprenticeship Providers Framework, offering education providers one-stop access to the public sector, and enabling employers to use quality checked providers with the protection of a national contract. Since 2017, we have worked via our close partnership to NHS England and over 900 employers, to deliver thousands of apprenticeship starts from entry level careers to director level qualifications.
Our coordination of the national paramedic apprenticeship, for example, has seen achievement rates in excess of 90%, and our general advice service helps employers navigate the complex world of levy transfers, funding rules, Ofsted outcomes and the ever-changing education provider landscape.
At the heart of what we do (all of which is at no cost to employers) is the apprenticeship experience for both the apprentice and the employer, driving innovation in education delivery methods, supporting trailblazer groups to shape their requirements, and supporting education providers to deliver apprenticeships which benefit employers and learners alike.
